x & threads

Currently in the process of moving house, and since it’s been a while, I decided to check out some reviews of local removal companies. Last time, I relied on Facebook for this, but it’s almost 2025! I created a list of several companies and used their names to see what came up.

The results were interesting. All three companies were prominent on X, Threads, and TikTok. Their organic rankings on these social media platforms were far higher than on their own websites—and for one, even above paid ads.

We all know TikTok has exploded over the past four years. All our clients are on it, and it’s certainly the go-to platform for the 18–25 age group. However, it was the other two platforms that intrigued me more.

I’ve been using X since 2008; hard to believe it’s been sixteen years! Since its evolution into X, it’s become very topical for a variety of reasons. Elon Musk has branded it a “platform of free speech,” and the timelines are notably different from what they were five years ago. Many who didn’t like these changes hopped over to Threads, Meta’s alternative. Although Threads lacks some of X’s full features and can feel heavy on clickbait, it has developed into a rich source of user insights.

We’ve now added TikTok, X, and Threads to our clients’ social media strategies. Many are moving away from Facebook and Instagram ads. With more options than ever for growing a company’s online presence, and the resurgence of YouTube and Pinterest, it’s a highly opportune time for raising brand awareness.
